Snowy Day Part II

Here's the second batch of my fun little snow day I had all by myself! Haha.
A couple of these are my favorite from the shoot. The first & the fifth. They almost look like old photographs from the 1920's or something.

Snowy Day Part I

Yay!
Finally went out and took some photos. It was such a gorgeous day outside today and all the leaves, planets & trees had such a nice snowy cover. Such a good day for picture taking!

Mornings

I decided to do something a bit different today with my photography.
I had the day off and was enjoy a healthy breakfast so I decided to play around with my camera at the same time!
I like the results... the photos remind me of a comfortable and quiet morning, don't you think?

On a side note, my body is incredibly sore from over doing it at the gym. Normally, I'm not the type to talk about my work out life and be all "Dude, I went way too hard today." Ew. But I actually did and I can barely move because of it. So today I have a day off from work and I'm also taking a day off from the gym and taking pictures instead!

Stay tuned for some snowy nature photography later on!! Gotta finish editing the pics.

Marathons, Oscars & More

Okay guys, I know this is a photography blog but I've sucked at going out & taking pics lately. Everything is so dreary right now with all the snow and the slush that I just haven't been feeling very inspired. I promise I'll get back to it soon!

In the meantime, I didn't want to leave this little blog of mine full of crickets so I thought I'd talk about some of the things that have been making me excited lately!

First off, the Oscars are tonight and I'm beyond excited! Every year, John & I celebrate with food & contests & drinks! Tonight, we're going to our friends house to combine our traditions as a group! On a side note, I watch the E Red Carpet before every award show, and Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Lawrence look flawless! Not to mention, they starred in two of my favorite nominated movies (Zero Dark Thirty & Silver Linings Playbook-Both so good!)

Secondly, I wanted to talk a bit about the healthy side of my life. Last year, I went to yoga about 3-4 times a week for a year on average. I seriously fell in love with the activity and even considered training to become a yoga teacher. Unfortunately, the classes started to become costly not to mention my cardiovascular health was weakening, so I switched to a normal gym. I've been going since January and have enjoyed running & lifting weights. Something that tends to happen with me when it comes to the gym, is I lose my motivation quickly so I made a decision: to train to run a half marathon come this September. I'm going to run in a 5k first, then a 10k in May then train hard for the half marathon come this September. I'm super nervous but also very excited. Along with my photos, I'm going to post my progress here as well.. I hope you don't mind. It won't be lengthy but it'll just be little tidbits to keep myself motivated.

Photos coming soon, promise! Hope your weekend was great!

The Great Gatsby

Now I know this is a photography blog however, I wanted to share the love I've found with a new book that I've started... well, new to me.
The classic, "The Great Gatsby" finally made it's way onto my Kobo (for a whole 99 cents people!) and I'm already halfway done. I know it's a short book, but I just started it today and I can't put it down (except for now to write this blog post).
I love how mysterious the characters are like Daisy Buchanan and Gatsby himself.
I love how I have no idea where this book is going but I have a feeling that something really bad is going to happen or I'm just going to be so shocked with how the book ends... it just seems like that type of story.
Anyway, I'm really glad I finally started reading The Great Gatsby and I hope the movie does the (short) story justice.
I'll let you know how I like it when it ends!
Feel free to share your thoughts just no spoilers please and thanks!

Waterfront

Sometimes when I'm going through my old photos that {at the time} I thought sucked, I change my mind.
I didn't post this photo (or even edit it) when I took it originally, but looking back on it.. it's actually quite beautiful. The way the ice is only somewhat frozen over the waterfront and how everything looks so dark and sad...

Sometimes a photo deserves a second look.

Pearls

This is by far my favorite photo I took from Tara's wedding day.
I love the candid & raw the photo is.

Thanks again Tara for allowing me to be a part of your special day.

Tara's Wedding Photos!!

Yay!
Finally, I have these photos up!
I just received a new job so I've been in crazy training all week and then low and behold, this weekend I've seemed to come down with something that's completely taking the life from my very body. Not good.
So, I figured while I'm just laying around the couch in my spandex (ha!), might as well get these photos up and running!
I had so much fun with these girls and guys, isn't the flower girl just the cutest thing?
I'm going to be sharing my all time favorite photo from the wedding tomorrow so stay tuned!

Also, things are starting to warm up outside and I don't feel like I live in Antarctica anymore so nature photography will be commencing shortly!

Tara's Bridal Photos Part I

I had the amazing honor to snap some Pre-Reception Bridal Photos for a nothing other than beautiful bride last weekend!

I'm still waiting on permission to post the "faces" of these photos but for now, here are some more "artsy" shots from Tara's big day.
